About the PDPA

What: As members of the PDPA, we are looking to build our industry by redirecting our focus to our goals—Ethics, Community, Education and Technology

Where: Help now with local volunteer opportunities. The PDPA has an annual meeting in Denver, Colorado where an open forum discussion is encouraged.

Why: The PDPA was formed by the need to ELEVATE the industry by bringing harmony, and creating guided education for the future.

How: Member by member, we are building a society of students, professionals, educators, manufacturers, and retailers who can come together for a common goal in the name of the decorative painting industry.

Who: Leaders in the decorative painting industry have come together to help build bridges and unite the trade. Join the growing group!

What to expect as a member

Once you sign up as a PDPA member, you have become part of a community of like minded people. At every level of membership, the PDPA offers great benefits such as the PDPA Podcast.

All members receive an email news letter with the latest industry news, new members list, project progress, volunteer opportunities, and an update as to what the Board is up to. Once a year, we send out the “What we’ve accomplished this year and what comes next” poster.


Student members receive a welcome letter, a membership guidebook, a membership card, and additional items listed as benefits. Student members also get the opportunity to be involved and gain access to the resources that the PDPA provides.


Professional members receive a welcome letter, a membership guidebook, a membership card, additional items listed as benefits, and a renewal packet every year. Pros can also expect an email requesting their bio, picture, contact info, qualifications, and references. We post this information on the website and announce the newest members to the community. Professional members also can attend the annual PDPA Education Summit for free.


Manufacturer members receive everything listed above, plus a full listing on the PDPA website with unlimited pages, free placement on the PDPA Podcast, access to our professional and student members, sponsorship opportunities, a position on our advisory committee, and opportunities for interaction with our local communities and events. Manufacturer members can also bring 5 people to the annual Education Summit free of charge


School members receive all of the same benefits and opportunities plus access to education studies, publications, the use of the Journeyman's Cipher, and the opportunity to become a PDPA accredited school. School members can also bring 3 people to the annual Education Summit free of charge.


We welcome paint stores and other industry associations to join the PDPA family by being involved in helping us grow our industry. Paint store members recieve the same benefits as school members do which are listed above.
